Mammals
Mashatu is home to an abundance of wildlife. On your game drives you can expect to see hyena, leopard, lion and cheetah which constitute the main big predators. Along the river courses, huge Mashatu trees provide shade for eland, impala, wildebeest, giraffe and zebra. Mashatu is also home to large free ranging herds of elephants and expect to get up close and personal. In addition to the larger species one should keep ones eyes open for the smaller more elusive creatures such as genet, wild cat, aardwolf and spring hares that make the African night their hunting ground. Trees
Tuli is home to some of the most magnificent trees known to man with some species estimated to be several hundred of years old. Giant Mashatu (Nyala) trees dominate the Tuli landscape and together with the huge Baobabs they attract birds, animals (particularly leopards) insects and reptiles. Wide open plains give way to densely treed riverine bush providing different eco systems and habitats for many creatures. Tree check list - click here |
