In the words of Emily Dibb, a regular visitor to the area.....
Africa is waiting – come!
Since you’ve touched the open sky,
And learned to love the rustling grass,
The wild fish eagle’s cry,
You’ll always hunger for the bush,
For the lion’s rasping roar,
To camp at last beneath the stars,
And to be at peace once more.

About the Camps...
Rock Camp
Rock Camp was the first camp built in 2000. It is situated one kilometre from the Pont Drift border post, and slightly back from the Limpopo River. Its situation means that it is often frequented by elephants that come down to drink at the water hole in front of the main area. The camp has a lovely atmosphere with many large Mashatu trees and there is nothing nicer than sitting on the veranda watching the birds and animals in camp. Beautiful Klipspringer sightings are also common on the rocks behind the camp that house numerous dassies as well as a leopard every so often! |
Eagle's NestEagle's Nest was founded on the success and popularity of Rock Camp. Situated 17 kilometres from the border, it is well worth the drive. This beautiful modern camp on the banks of the Matabole River is in the prime game viewing area. The numerous roads out of camp mean you have plenty of drive options, often returning to camp to awaiting 4 legged visitors. Returning from night drives the smell of bush wood smoke often fills the air letting you know you are almost back at camp for well deserved refreshments and dinner. After a tragic fire in September 2019, which burnt the main area down to the ground, the newly built Eagle's Nest is once again up and running. |
